Dr Clare Keys

Clare is a Research Associate at KMPT. She supports research development and funding bid applications relating to mental health, often in collaboration with universities, charities, and communities in the local area. She is also an Honorary Researcher with KMMS.

Clare has an undergraduate degree in English and education (QTS) from Bath, a masters degree in education from The Open University, a masters degree in international human rights law from The University of Law, and a PhD in health and social science from Bournemouth University. She has come to the NHS from the local authority, working with vulnerable families to ensure inclusion in education. Prior to that, she was a Senior Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she attained her Senior Fellowship of the HEA.

Clare’s research has focused on mental health, particularly related to children and young people, immigration, health policy and practice, social inclusion, and equity of experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic.
